Uh-oh, They’re Passing My Book Out to WI Regulators; What Happens If They Read About Themselves?

Scott Trautman, whom I wrote about in my Nov. 2 post, is trying every which way to draw attention to the war on raw dairy producers going on in Wisconsin. It’s not easy, because the hundreds of raw dairy farmers in the state are afraid that they’ll be next, and be stripped of their opportunity to earn a living, like Scott Trautman and the owners of the Zinniker Family Farm.

Today, Scott appeared before the Board of Directors of the state’s Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, to make his case that the state is unfairly singling out his and the Zinniker Farm for punishment by suspending their dairy licenses. (For a detailed statement of his objections, take a look at this article by Scott Trautman.)

He wrote me after the session today, “The board members were quite interested, asked good questions…”

I’m not sure whether that happened before or after The Raw Milk Revolution was passed out. Scott wrote that a raw milk supporter with Scott “has a whole case of (the books), and distributed them to the entire board.”

At first I was pleased that Scott and his supporters thought enough of the book to give it to the regulators. But then I went and looked at what I wrote about Wisconsin on pages 225 and 226, and I have a feeling these regulators aren’t going to be real pleased. (By the way, I'm not trying to equate The Raw Milk Revolution with Thomas Paine's pre-Revolutionary War classic Common Sense, the title page of which is shown above; just my sense of what the Wisconsin experience represents.)

I quote from some secret emails recounting conference calls between officials of DATCP and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, which amount to a plan for the campaign currently under way in Wisconsin. Two FDA officials were said to “have done some Internet searching and identified about 20 milk clubs in Illinois. They prefer to address one person or group at a time…”

The key phrase is that last one, the desire to focus on one person or group at a time. The food cops value control above all else, and having to deal with many farmers or buying clubs at one time stretches their resources too thin. So my advice to Wisconsin farmers and buyers club owners: throw your hat into the ring and challenge the food cops to come after all of you at once. Don’t make it so easy for them to pick you off one operator at a time. Play by your rules, not theirs. (If you think I’m tough on the WI regulators, take a look at Marti Oakley’s analysis.

And to the Wisconsin regulators who received the freebies, I’ll be glad to specially inscribe your books if you’d like. Just send me an email.

This weekend is the annual Wise Traditions Conference put on by the Weston A. Price Foundation, being held in the Chicago area. I'm excited to be speaking there, and autographic books. There's still time to sign up, I understand.

Speaking of your new book, I received your automated email yesterday letting me know that Chelsea Green was offering complimentary copies to registered TCP contributors and I immediately signed up. That is a very generous offer from your publisher, and I am very appreciative. Things have been pretty quiet here in Ohio lately and I haven't posted much on your blog for the past year or so, but it is still one of the first sites that I check every morning.

I am going to attend and speak at the big rally for Max Kane in Chicago on December 21st.

I am bringing some OPDC raw milk with me and I will drink it on the steps of the court house.

The stark contrast of walking into 375 stores in CA and buying legal, safe, tested and regulated raw milk....vs....going to jail for providing a cows share for people and their raw milk is unAmerican.

I will speak to this. This is our generations fight....our generations civil rights movement. It impacts the health of future generations and our own qualty of life and life expectancy. Immune depression is rampant in America. Being immune depressed is not American. It is fascist-greed and control by neglect of our health.

Time to fight for our rights. David is right....hang together or hang one by one. Each of these skirmishes provides a place to make a stand at our "wounded knee" ( Joels words ) .

Stand for Max and his case...make a stand and be heard at our "wounded gut"

FYI....

For anyone interested, on November 23rd, Sally Fallon will be visiting OPDC at 1500 hours until 1800 hours for a meet and greet. If you would like to attend please call and let us know you are coming. There will be plenty of hot ( 110 degrees and still raw ) raw chocolate milk, regular cold raw milk and some awesome cookies made by a Local Weston A Price organic chef. This is her first visit to OPDC and we are all very excited.

If you consume raw milk and live in CA this will be a special event.... Sally and I will both make some announcements and spend some time sharing with friends and consumers.

Guaranteed that the raw milk will be the freshest ever....one hour old and delicious.
Call 1-877 RAW MILK if you would like to attend... meet Sally and see the cows.

Its all free.

I took advantage of the free book offer as well. That is very nice and I am very much looking forward to reading David's book. As Don mentioned above, this is one of my regular stops for information on new raw milk happenings.

On a slightly seperate note, I was on the Acres, USA website and noticed that David Gumpert and Mark McAfee will be speaking at the upcoming Acres, USA Sustainable Agriculture conference. I am going to try to attend that this coming December.

The Dr. Mercola article with David's video is on Lew Rockwell, too:

http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig10/mercola14.1.html

The liberty-loving organizations are starting to sit up and take notice!

The Wisconsin Libertarian party has been following raw milk in Wisconsin, and is interested in putting it on their platform. The more warm bodies we have demanding our freedom to choose, the better chance we have of succeeding!

P.S. David, thanks so much for the book offer. I'm looking forward to reading it. And don't worry if DATCP doesn't like that what you wrote about them. It's good for them to know that we know. Because, what is that saying? When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. When the government fears the people, there is liberty.

Interesting article with an interesting title.

The Raw Milk Revolution. by Travis Pillow
This farmer spends less than $80 per year on vet bills.
How much of the PEOPLES money is totally waisted on trying to force an unworkable industrial food system to do what it cannot possibly do? What he we bought with our tax money? It has been reported we now IMPORT 50% of the food we consume!

The raw milk revolution is growing worldwide having now reached Austrailia and Tasmania.

Lets Stop this Raw Deal by Elaine Reeves
Slow Food Carlo Petrini Says to Aussies
He did not believe the claim that pasteurization of milk for cheese was there to safeguard our health. "The law doesn't defend people's health. It just defends industry"
"When you pasteurize milk you deprive it of its soul"
More and more of the PEOPLE and refusing to believe the fairy tale party lines spinning out of the mouths of TPTB
Perhaps we may yet regain our real unfettered, unlicensed free moral agency to make our own choises and inturn regain our souls.

David....

You book is taking off. Congrats and great stuff with Mercola.

Last evening the Unitarian Church in Fresno was packed to capacity for a free showing of Food Inc.....at the end a panel of local food advocates and farmers market growers spoke and those in attendance all applauded when the suggestion was made to vote with your dollars to support local farmers markets and bankrupt the current Monsanto et al sick food paradigm.

This morning the Fresno farmers market was packed with consumers and farmers were selling like crazy. OPDC sold more raw milk than ever.

Change is happening simulateously at many levels.

David....thank you much for your personal investment into digging up and exposing the science and the truth and telling it to all...so well.

Et tu, South Dakota?

http://www.rapidcityjournal.com/business/article_100e5c0c-d19f-11de-91e6-001cc4c03286.html

"A proposal to require small dairies that sell raw milk to comply with the same rules applying to large dairies is unfair and will put small raw milk distributors out of business, a Custer area farmer says.

Lila Streff milks about 20 goats at her farm, south of Custer, which she says has passed all state dairy inspections.

But Streff said if she is required by the new rules to buy expensive equipment and conduct more testing, she will be forced to quit selling milk.

A state Department of Agriculture official said the new rules are being proposed to protect public health and that some cases of illness have been linked to people drinking raw milk.

A hearing on the proposed rule changes will be held at 9:30 a.m. CST Tuesday, Nov. 17, in the state Capitol in Pierre...."

Hey truth seekers and truth speakers...what about this idea?

Get every one to send in $25 per month to the FTCLDF and we sue the hell out of the FDA.

The reason I suggest this is becuase the evidence and the data supports the Raw Milk Revolution 100%. The latest reesearch from the Milk Genome project at UC Davis, the Stanford studies being conducted right now....the CDC data, the data on other foods and their relative risk....it is all here. EU studies and other data is here and available.

We just need to fund our freedom fighters and bring the FDA to face the truth.

The Emperor of Pastuerization is lactose intolerant, bankrupt and buck ass naked.... CFR 1240.61 and other corrupt FDA laws need to be changed and now. They are not based in science they are based in market protectionist dogma. "Food Inc" is setting the stage for this rebellion. All we need is the leadership and direction to make this happen.

Any thoughts are this?

John Sheehan can not refuse to obey a federal supeona. That would land him in jail. We need to turn up the heat on this and make mainstream media take notice. We need to be on the front of time magazine and Oprah. A big federal lawsuit would do just that. The huge benefits we are seeing in childreds immune health are too big and too important to ignor.

It is time to bring the FDA to their maker and make them comply with the will of the people and the hard science and true data.

The FDA has still not responded to the "Citizens Petition" filed nearly a year ago, By law they are to respond in 180 days. Their arrogance is unbelievable.

It is time to hit them hard, put a boot on their throat and not let up. People are dying everyday from FDA arrogance and corruption. It is our civil duty to bring them to justice.

Lets fund the FTCLDF and get this action started. To many of our farmers and consumers are suffering and it is all because the FDA is corrupt and protecting industry. The FDA is industry.
